Come for a taste, stay and play
Glen Arbor Wines is a product of my love affair with Glen Arbor—a tiny, picture-perfect town on Lake Michigan's Sleeping Bear Bay. I spent every summer of my childhood here, swimming in the bay, floating in inner tubes down the Crystal River, hiking the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes and hanging out at beach bonfires. Spend any time here and you'll know why Glen Arbor weaves its way into your very DNA. Just out of college, I headed straight to Glen Arbor to take over my grandparents' small restaurant, now the Western Avenue Grill. Ten year later I was off on a new career as a writer and editor covering Northern Michigan.
All the while, I lived in Glen Arbor, a town that as far as I was concerned had everything—except a business dedicated to tasting and experiencing the incredible and award-winning local wines made on our Leelanau Peninsula, just north of the Sleeping Bear Dunes. It turns out, some friends who are Leelanau winemakers agreed and Glen Arbor Wines was born. Find our wines, taste them, have a glass and buy a bottle at the comfortable, relaxed tasting room that I have poured my heart and my love for this beautiful peninsula and town into.
